Shivam Patel

Shivam Patel is a 4th year Mechanical Engineering student at Georgia Tech. He is currently co-oping with an aerospace contractor and plans to pursue graduate degrees in Aerospace Engineering.

Born and raised in Princeton Jct., New Jersey, Shivam spent most of his time in high school running cross-country and track all year round. As an Eagle Scout, he spent a lot of time backpacking, camping, and leading his troop. He was also a Ranger at Philmont Scout Ranch in the summer of 2017 and spent three months teaching and guiding backpacking trips in the southern Rocky Mountains.

At Georgia Tech, Shivam was the president of the school’s hydrogen powered car competition team and volunteers as a backpacking instructor and climbing instructor-in-training with Outdoor Recreation Georgia Tech (ORGT), where he met Sam and Andrew. In the spring of 2019, he completed his Wilderness First Aid (WFA) certification to help him become a more aware and responsible leader in the backcountry.

Shivam is honored to be a part of the Aconcagua expedition. He appreciates the magnitude of this challenge and looks forward to growing to meet it.
